Psion Netpad

Overview
This is a Psion Teklogix project which I worked on during my time there. Psion NetPad is a range of 32 bit ruggedised handheld colour tablet computers. This highly specified product includes GPRS, barcode scanner, IP67, 15kV electrostatic discharge, 2m drop onto concrete, co-moulded and insert moulded casework. Role
Mechanical Team Leader - Management of mechanical department staff including contract staff and external consultancies. Conception and realisation of the design from the product specification, through sketches, block models and prototypes. Responsible for all aspects of the mechanical design including all casework, flexi-rigid components, sheet metalwork, etc in Pro/ENGINEER. Coordinated between other internal departments, tool makers, moulders, and suppliers.
